Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -Chehaw Park and Zoo received a C-arm fluoroscopy imaging machine from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital valued at more than $100,000.
The machine provides real-time, high-resolution X-ray images from multiple angles.
The zoo said the equipment will enable quicker diagnoses and reduce stress for animals, as they will not need to be sedated or transported off-site for imaging.
“If we can keep it here in our community to support a great organization like Chehaw, that’s great,” Phoebe Imaging Services Director Tracy Wilkinson said.
The equipment will be used in Chehaw’s on-site veterinary clinic for animals like bears, cheetahs, and red wolves.
