CanadaEUUSSteel tariffsRetaliation$20B planAluminumDonald TrumpTORONTO (TNND) — Canada plans to announce $29.8 billion in retaliatory tariffs on the United States on Wednesday in response to the 25% steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, a senior Candian government official told The Associated Press.
This comes hours after the European Union also retaliated with $28 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods such as industrial and agricultural products.
Canada is the largest foreign supplier of steel and aluminum to the U.S.
