CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - Walmart plans to hold a grand reopening ceremony this week to celebrate major upgrades to its 99,704 square-foot location in Cairo.

Renovations include an updated sales floor, bathroom remodels, pharmacy services expansion and a new wellness room where customers can receive vaccinations and health consultations in a private setting.

“This store hasn’t experienced a remodel in nearly 23 years, so these updates provide a big boost not only from a cosmetic standpoint, but to the overall shopping experience for our customers.”

Another change customers will notice is a new mural near the front of the store that celebrates Cairo as the “Syrup City” and pays tribute to the Cairo High School Syrup Makers mascot.

The grand reopening event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, at 9 a.m. at the store located at 361 Eighth Ave. N.E. in Cairo.
