(Gray News) - The Food and Drug Administration recalled thousands of bottles of blood pressure medication for “failed dissolution specifications.”
That means the medication might be ineffective.
The FDA recalled 11,460 bottles of chlorthalidone tablets, USP, 25 mg. The pills have an expiration date of April 2027.

The recall affects 100-tablet bottles marked batch RISA24001 and 1,000-tablet bottles marked batch RISB24002.
Chlorthalidone is a diuretic. It is used to treat high blood pressure, fluid retention that is caused by congestive heart failure, severe liver disease, kidney disease or treatment with a hormone or steroid medicine, according to Mayo Clinic.
