CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Two South Georgia athletes are proving that friendship and football can go hand in hand.
Hagan Slimp and Grant Alexander—who have been best friends since Pre-K—recently graduated from Crisp County High School and are now preparing for their next chapter together at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where both signed to play college football.
The two have shared the field for years, playing rec league football, all-stars, middle school football and eventually transferring to Crisp County High School to continue their football journey side by side.

Slimp may already be familiar to some viewers after previously sharing his story with WALB about overdose awareness while serving as Crisp County’s quarterback.

Now, the longtime friends are celebrating another major milestone together—graduation and the opportunity to continue playing the sport they love at the collegiate level.
Family members say the journey has been special to watch, with the two athletes growing up together both on and off the field.
Their story is one of friendship, dedication and a bond that continues far beyond Friday night lights.
