ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — An 85-year-old piano instructor has been arrested and charged with one count of child molestation following an investigation by the Dougherty County Police Department.

Dr. Harry Martinez was taken into custody on Monday, August 24, 2026, after being interviewed by investigators. He is currently being held in the Dougherty County Jail.

Police launched the investigation after receiving a report alleging inappropriate contact involving a 10-year-old boy. Detectives proceeded to interview individuals connected to the case and conducted investigative follow-up before making the arrest.

Because the case involves a minor, police are withholding any details that could identify the victim.

Martinez has provided private piano lessons in students’ homes and other locations throughout the Albany-Dougherty County and Leesburg-Lee County areas.
