DOUGLAS, Ga. — A high-placed source close to the investigation says an arrest has been made in the 2010 murder of Sandra Latrail Robinson.

According to jail records from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Willie James Jr., 58, of Wayne County was booked into the Coffee County Jail on March 2, 2026, at 9:49 p.m. He has been charged with

• Murder
• Malice Murder
• Aggravated Assault

The Georgia Bureau of investigations (GBI) is listed as the arresting agency. He is currently being held at the Coffee County Jail.

Robinson, 32, was discovered murdered on March 17, 2010, inside the Prepaid Superstore located at 706 South Madison Avenue in Douglas, Coffee County.

Investigators say Robinson died from multiple sharp force wounds. Authorities believe the murder occurred between approximately 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. during open business hours.

Robinson worked at the cellular phone store, which was located near PCC Probation, Walgreens, Flash Foods, and Rountree Park in Douglas. She was the mother of four.

For years, Robinson’s case remained listed on the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s unsolved homicide page, with a $1,000 reward offered for information leading to an arrest. March 17 would mark 16 years since Robinson’s death.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 4 Douglas Office is over the case. Multiple law enforcement agencies are expected to deliver case updates during a live press conference tomorrow. WALB plans to attend.
