COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A man is facing several charges including first degree burglary following a brief standoff with Coffee County deputies, according to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

On Monday, Dec. 1, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area of Kingwood Road for a trespassing complaint. When deputies arrived, “it became clear that the incident was a domestic situation that had escalated beyond control,” CCSO said.

The sheriff’s office said Lucio David Osornio went to the home armed with two pistols and was actively making terroristic threats. CCSO said deputies immediately evacuated the occupants of the home and learned that Osornio barricaded himself inside the home.

As the situation unfolded, Sheriff Fred Cole and members of the Command Staff arrived and began negotiating with Osornio.

After a brief standoff, he was safely taken into custody by deputies using nonlethal techniques, CCSO said.

CCSO was assisted by D.I.C.E. Unit, the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit, Criminal Investigation Division and the Georgia State Patrol.

He was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation and later taken to the Coffee County Jail.

Osornio has been charged with:

• First-degree burglary
• First-degree Home Invasion
• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Terroristic threats and acts
• Possession of a firearm during certain crimes
