CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WALB) - The Alabama Law Enforcement agency confirms three people died in a boating accident on Smith Lake in Alabama.

Flint Davis of Leesburg, a professional angler, was one of three people injured in the crash, according to a Cullman County official.

WALB spoke with Davis’ parents who said he is recovering in the hospital.

One Alabama man was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other bodies have since been recovered from Smith Lake, according to the law enforcement agency.

“Out of respect for those involved, and to ensure the accuracy of all information, no further details will be released at this time,” said Joe Opager with Major League Fishing (MLF). “MLF is working closely with law enforcement and emergency officials. Additional updates will be provided as they are confirmed by the appropriate authorities. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest concern are with everyone affected by this tragic incident,”

Davis was part of the Tackle Warehouse Invitational.
