ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The city of Albany will begin construction on N. Monroe Street on Monday, March 2 at 8 a.m.
N. Monroe Street will be closed from south of Hodges Street to 11th Avenue during the work, according to the city. The closure is expected to last three days or until construction is complete.

Detour route established for truck drivers
The city has established a temporary detour route on 16th Avenue for truck drivers. Residents in the area can expect to see large trucks on 16th Avenue during the closure, according to the city.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes when possible.
