ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany State University (ASU) announced it will host a series of free summer camps throughout June, providing middle and high school students with experiences in science, technology and energy innovation.
The announcement comes nearly three weeks after the university said it would cut its Summer Youth Sports Program.

The camps are designed to introduce students to hands-on learning, career exploration and real-world applications in STEM fields while fostering creativity, critical thinking and academic growth.
- ASU Science Sleuths Summer Camp (June 1–12): A 10-day program focused on forensic science and applied STEM learning for rising 7th–10th grade students.
- Clean Energy Camp (June 1–5): A one-week program for high school students exploring solar energy, sustainability and environmental impact.
- Constellation Solar Camp (June 22–26 & June 29–July 3): Hands-on STEM experiences centered on solar energy systems for middle and high school students.
- Artemis Pre-College Summer Institute (June 1–15): A two-week STEM program introducing high school students to artificial intelligence, space science and emerging technologies.
