OCILLA, Ga. (WALB) - A second arrest was made in connection with a deadly shooting that left one person dead and others injured.

The shooting left Marquavious Da’shawn Westbrook, 19, dead, according to his mother and stepfather.

Another victim, Damonee Crumedy, 20, was in critical condition in the ICU at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center, according to his mother, Tequesta Crumedy.

According to the Irwin County Sheriff’s Office, the second suspect was previously wanted and has now been charged with murder and aggravated assault by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in connection with the death and multiple aggravated assaults that occurred in Ocilla on Saturday, April 4.

The identity of the second suspect has not been released. We are working to learn more information.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies saw the wanted subject’s vehicle on Saturday, April 18, headed towards Ocilla. Shortly after confirming the vehicle’s identity, deputies followed the vehicle into Ocilla and conducted a traffic stop.

The suspect was taken into custody following the traffic stop.

This arrest comes just days after the GBI announced on Thursday, April 16, that Cleveland Lewis Pettiford, 24, of Fitzgerald, was also charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.

Pettiford was booked into the Irwin County Jail.
