ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — Albany police are reportedly searching for two male suspects after a 13-year-old was shot at a park near the Bethel Housing Complex early Sunday morning. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to 507 Swift Street, where a group of teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 had been playing at a nearby park. According to police, two men approached and immediately began shooting.

The 13-year-old victim was shot in the right ankle.

“They were all just playing, ages 13 to 15 years of age, and someone just came out. They described two male suspects. On the description that they gave us, they were tall. They weren’t able to provide any other physical characteristics. So we are continuously investigating the case until we can identify suspects.”

Police said the two suspects are described only as tall males. No further physical description was available.
