DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - A Coffee County man is behind bars after investigators found over a pound of marijuana in his home.

Today, 23-year-old Chase Westberry is behind bars following a joint drug investigation between the Douglas Coffee Drug Unit and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. The operation executed a search warrant for Westberry’s home in West Green, Georgia.

“I’m proud of the coordinated efforts between the Douglas Police Department and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. Removing these substances and firearms from circulation helps make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.”

Westberry is charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute
• Possession of a schedule III, IV, V, or II controlled substance with intent to distribute

Investigators found 751.9 grams (or 1.6 pounds) of suspected marijuana and 108.2 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms. Several Firearms and drug distribution items were also seized.
