ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two 19-year-olds injured during a birthday party at a local banquet hall.
Officers were called around 10:30 p.m. on March 7 to the 1000 block of West Broad Avenue for reports of a shooting, according to Albany Police Chief Michael Persley.
Investigators said the gunfire broke out during the birthday celebration. A 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were shot while attempting to flee the scene. One was shot in the leg, the other was shot in the ankle. Both injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
No witnesses have been able to identify who opened fire. No suspect description has been released.
