ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Active weather returns over the weekend. We’re tracking a storm system that’ll sweep across the region Saturday through Monday. Clouds thicken with hit or miss showers and warm upper 70s on Saturday. Overnight widespread rain and a Marginal Risk for isolated strong-severe storms arrive early on Sunday. Although the severe threat is low (1/5) it’s not zero. Rain chances hold as the severe threat tapers off with cooler low 60s through the afternoon.

As the system pushes away on Monday rain chances gradually end as drier air filters in again. Tuesday and Wednesday wall to wall sunshine and warmer mid-upper 70s near 80°. Scattered showers early Thursday the briefly dry and warm on Friday.

Next weekend forecast models are suggesting an active pattern with more rain and storms.
