Description
OCILLA, Ga. (WALB) - The warning period for Redspeed in Ocilla has been extended by an additional week.
The winter storm that caused in-person classes to be canceled for four days led to the extension, according to the Ocilla Police Department.
The warning period has now been extended through Feb. 7.
“Redspeed has also taken additional steps to enhance school zone safety by installing flashers on Brushy Creek Road and installing new signage in both school zones,” said the police department.
Redspeed has issued 337 warnings since the beginning of the warning period:
- 187 violations were on Lax Hwy with the fastest recorded speed being 68 miles per hour.
- 150 violations were on Brushy Creek Road with the fastest recorded speed being 84 miles per hour.
Redspeed will start issuing violation-citations on Feb. 10, according to the police department.
