PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WKRC) — A 24-year-old Venezuelan man reportedly pretended to be a 16-year-old student and attended an Ohio high school, even tricking the adult guardians he was living with.
According to a letter from school officials to parents obtained by local outlet WTVG, the school received information from 24-year-old Anthony Labrador's adult legal guardians that they discovered that Labrador, who was attending the school as a 16-year-old student, was actually an adult.
Police documents obtained by the outlet reportedly said that Labrador first contacted the school in November of 2023 to request enrollment, claiming his birthday was December 2, 2007.
He allegedly told the school that he had been trafficked from Venezuela and provided a birth certificate in January of 2024. The school said he also had an Ohio driver's license, a Social Security number, and a Temporary Protective Status from the U.S. Immigration Department.
Labrador attended the high school for months until his legal guardians received correspondence from a woman claiming to be the mother of Labrador's child on May 14, 2025, per police documents.
She reportedly told the guardians that the man they were taking care of was actually a 24-year-old father. She supplied corroborating documents, including a license under the name Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra with a birthday of March 27, 2001, per the outlet.
Border Patrol became involved with the investigation and allegedly discovered that Labrador's visa expired in 2023.
Labrador was arrested during a traffic stop on May 19. He was charged with felony forgery.
