VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Out of heartbreak, one Valdosta woman is offering hope and comfort to families experiencing loss.
SGMC Health in Valdosta shared a post recognizing patient Ansley Stagner, who transformed her personal loss into an act of compassion. Stagner handcrafted candles and donated them to the hospital’s Labor and Delivery team to be placed in fetal demise memory boxes.

The candles are meant to be lit each year on a baby’s birthday, serving as a symbol of light, remembrance, and an enduring connection for grieving families.
Hospital officials say the heartfelt gifts will provide comfort during an incredibly difficult time, helping families feel supported and remembered.
SGMC Health thanked Stagner for her generosity, noting that her kindness will bring light and healing to many families when they need it most.
