VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — The City of Valdosta Neighborhood Development team will host the annual Back to School Community Block Party on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unity Park, located at 301 E. Central Avenue.

The community event will provide students and families with resources and support as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Attendees can receive school supplies, food, and haircuts for students, along with music and family-friendly activities.

Haircuts will be available at the Multipurpose Room at the City Hall Annex.

“This event is about more than school supplies and services, it’s about ensuring our students know their community is invested in their success. We look forward to helping families prepare for a positive and productive school year.”

The event is designed to bring together local organizations, businesses, volunteers and residents to support educational success and strengthen community connections.

School supplies will be distributed while supplies last.
