(Gray News) - Capital One users are reporting problems getting money from their accounts during a reported outage.
Users opening their banking apps Thursday and Friday were greeted with a message from Capital One reporting “technical issues” and an inability to make payments or deposits.
“We are currently experiencing technical issues,” the message read. “We are working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.”
According to Capital One, they are experiencing a “technical issue” that is impacting some account services such as deposits and payment processing. This issue involves a third-party vendor and impacts Capital One consumers, small businesses and commercial banks.
Thousands of users began reporting issues on Thursday and still experiencing problems Friday morning, according to DownDetector. A majority of the problems users have reported via DownDetector have been with deposits.
Capital One’s support account on the social media platform X has been flooded with complaints from users. Many are reporting the issue is impacting their ability to pay bills on time, leading to unwarranted late fees.
Capital One has not given a set ETA on when the issue will be resolved but reported they are actively working with the vendor to restore services.
According to a CNN report, FIS Global is the third-party vendor that is affected by the issue. CNN reported FIS Global provides financial tech services to a number of major banks.
