[ORIGINAL 6/22/2026 @2:48 pm] - The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is increasing the reward for information leading to arrests after multiple shootings over the weekend, including an incident that sent children running for safety.
A video circulating from Saturday, June 20, shows children fleeing as gunfire erupted nearby. Authorities say the children were not playing; they were trying to get away from the danger.
After community members said a $1,000 reward was not enough, the reward has now been doubled to $2,000.
Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock is contributing $1,000, and Police Chief Hicks is contributing another $1,000 toward the reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for the weekend shootings.
Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
“Someone knows who did this. Someone knows who was there, emphasizing that speaking up could help prevent another child from being put in danger.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cordele Police Department or the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911.
