GEORGIA. (WALB) — Visitors to Georgia’s costal regions can learn more about the Peach States natural resources in the upcoming Costal Resources Division’s (CRD) annual Beach Week.
The Learning opportunities will be held on Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and on Tybee Island. Visitors will meet scientists, conservation professionals, and game wardens while learning more about Georgia’s vital costal regions.
“Beach Week is a great opportunity for families to learn about Georgia’s coast while enjoying a day at the beach. We’re excited to partner with organizations from across the state to provide fun, engaging experiences that connect people with our coastal resources.”
Event dates and Locations
Monday, June 29Great Dunes Pavilion, Jekyll Island10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Tuesday, June 30Massengale Park, St. Simons Island10 a.m.–3 p.m.
Wednesday, July 1Tybee Island Marine Science Center, Tybee Island10 a.m.–3 p.m.
What to Expect
Each location will have various interactive exhibits. Participants will interact with exhibits on marine life, habitat, conservation and recreation, according to the Georgia Department Of Natural Resources (DNR). Visitors can also interact with horseshoe crabs.
