CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - A driver was ejected and killed in a single-vehicle crash on Georgia Highway 111 in Grady County on Saturday, April 18, according to a preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol.
A trooper was dispatched to the crash near Mile Marker 16 at 12:40 p.m.
The vehicle was traveling south on Georgia Highway 111 near Mile Marker 16 when it left the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve to the left, according to the report. The vehicle entered the ditch and continued traveling south and struck a driveway.

After the collision with the driveway, the vehicle became airborne while overturning. When the vehicle landed, it continued traveling south while overturning and struck a guy wire attached to a utility pole. The vehicle then rotated counterclockwise and struck a tree, where it came to a final rest.
The investigation revealed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. During the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and came to a rest near the vehicle. The driver suffered fatal injuries.
