Description
LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Two people were injured after a semi-truck and pickup truck collided on I-75 south in Valdosta on Oct. 25.
According to Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the crash happened around 11:11 a.m. at mile marker 16.
Troopers say a blue Volvo semi-truck carrying a trailer was in the middle lane when it clipped a black Ford Ranger in the right lane.
This caused the Ford to spin out of control and crash head-on with the Volvo.
GSP said the pickup truck then overturned onto its driver’s side in the emergency lane.
Video shows the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, fire trucks, and ambulances were on the scene, closing portions of I-75 for hours.
The driver of the Ford Ranger, identified as a 51-year-old man from Alapaha, Ga., along with his passenger, were taken to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, GSP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
