RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Two people were arrested after deputies stopped a stolen U-Haul traveling through Randolph County on Highway 27, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests came just days after another suspect was taken into custody in Cuthbert following an alleged crime committed in a neighboring county.
Sheriff’s officials said deputies spotted the stolen U-Haul on Highway 27 and quickly conducted a traffic stop. Sgt. Frandsen, Deputy Coleman, and Capt. Johnson was credited with helping bring the incident to a safe end.
Authorities said the two individuals were allegedly driving the stolen rental truck through Randolph County when deputies intervened and made the arrests.

The sheriff’s office also highlighted a separate incident on June 12, when a suspect accused of committing a crime in a neighboring county was located and arrested in Cuthbert. Sgt. Brown, Lt. Bolen, Deputy Buchanan, and Officer Gilbert were recognized for their quick response in that case.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office thanked community members for their continued support and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity.
“See something, say something,” the agency said, adding that tips from the public can help keep the community safe.
Officials also reminded drivers to obey traffic laws and always wear a seat belt, noting that a few extra seconds can save a life.
