Description
CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Heavy rain and thunderstorms made parts of Hatley road in Crisp County impassable.
Video from the Crisp County Sheriff, Billy Hancock shows water running over Hatley road west of Stokes.
The Crisp County Sheriffs office says it only takes a small amount of water to sweep a vehicle off the road. “you often can’t see what is beneath the water” Hancock said. Roads could be washed out or the water can be much deeper than it appears.

National Weather Service on Roadway Flooding
Each year more deaths occur from flooding than from any other thunderstorm related hazard, according to the National Weather service(NWS). The NWS says it only takes 12 inches of water to carry away a vehicle.
More flash flooding is expected throughout the region.
