ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Troup County jail inmate escaped Sunday morning, deputies said.
Christian Joel-Marcos Cortez was last seen on jail property around 4:42 a.m., according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
Cortez was being held on a child molestation charge since June 2025, according to jail records.
He’s described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black-and-white striped pants.
Anyone who sees him should call 911.
