BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WCTV) - A historic building, which was once a prominent hospital, will soon be transformed into an Adventurous Career Exploration (ACE) museum in Bainbridge.

Organizers say hopefully, within the next year, their building will be totally transformed into an interactive museum for kids.

From trade skills, financial literacy and other life skills like emotional development, Marguerite Jackson, the chief experience officer, says she wanted to create a place where kids could learn and play.

Jackson says the museum will feature computer labs, 3D printing, a water room for stimulation, a play grocery store and much more.

Mayor Sylvia Washington said having a place for kids to prepare for the real world means a lot for the community.

“We’ve got to fill that gap; there aren’t a lot of job opportunities for our youth. A lot of youth don’t have the funding to go to college,” Washington said. “(It) gives them an opportunity to see what’s available, what it requires for those jobs, and it would give them the experience to work in those fields.”

Once it is officially open, organizers say they plan to start off small with a Friday through Sunday schedule and then eventually expand.
