Description
DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - A routine traffic stop conducted by an officer with the Douglas Police Department (DPD) has led to the arrest of a wanted felon and the discovery of illegal narcotics, according to a release from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
According to the release, the stop occurred after the officer noticed that the vehicle was driving without a visible license plate. During the traffic stop, the officer identified one of the passengers as Tyler Willard, who was reportedly confirmed to have an active felony probation warrant.
Willard was taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Pre-trial Detention Center, where officers reportedly discovered 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine concealed in his sock.
The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit was notified, and Willard was issued additional charges for possession of a controlled substance and crossing the guard lines with illegal contraband.
