THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) – The parents of a 19-year-old who was shot and killed in Thomasville are calling for justice one month after their son’s death.

Kelvin Williams, Jr. was shot on Jerger Street in Thomasville on June 30, and he died on July 5.

“We’ve still got to process the situation that he’s not here and still live life, or try to anyway,” Kelvin’s mother Clarissa Wright said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says they haven’t made any arrests but are “continuing with interviews as they develop and processing evidence we recovered that hopefully aids us in our work on this case.”

Wright said this makes the healing process even more difficult. “It’s upsetting because the person who did it is still out there,” she said. “It’s just upsetting that I haven’t got justice.”

Wright described her son as a person who would give anyone the shirt off his back.

“He looked out for his cousins, friends. He looked out for everybody and made sure everybody was okay,” Wright said.

She also reflected on Kelvin’s personality.

“Very funny. He liked to have fun. He was like the life of the party,” Wright said. “Even if he was down, he’ll tell them like ‘You can make it’ or ‘You’re going to be okay.’”

She and Kelvin’s father, Kelvin Williams, Sr., are asking anyone with information to let police know. Wright says they just want to find a sense of closure and justice for their son.
