CAMILLA, Ga. (WALB) - The Camilla Police Department (CPD) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are investigating a Sunday morning shooting.
According to Michael Hall, chief investigator with CPD, the shooting happened at around 11 a.m. at the corner of W. Church Street and N. Harney Street.
“He was just shooting all over the place. It was scary. I told my aunt to stay in the car because bullets were flying everywhere and I didn’t want her to get shot,” said one witness.
Hall told WALB that a man later identified as Titus Robinson, 53, started shooting at a woman’s car outside of Bob’s Grocery. The woman then drove away and immediately called the police.

Hall said that when police arrived, Robinson started shooting at police from his house. One officer took cover, and the other officer returned fire.
Hall told WALB that he briefly retreated into his house, and the officer continued firing into the house. Robinson then came out of the house and surrendered to police.
No one was injured or shot in this incident.
He is currently being held at the Mitchell County Jail.
As for next steps, law enforcement is working on getting a search warrant for the suspect’s house to further investigate the firearms used. Camilla PD says they do not know why the suspect fired his gun at the woman’s car in the first place.
“Then we are going to start processing the other car that was shot at, then we will try and talk to him to see if we can get an explanation on why this happened,” said CPD’s Chief Investigator, Michael Hall.
CPD is handling the first incident — the woman who was shot at outside of Bob’s Grocery — and the GBI is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
