EARLY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — [UPDATE - Feb. 3, 12:47 p.m.:] A man wanted on battery and 911 interference charges is now in custody after more than two months on the run, authorities confirmed Monday, February 2, 2026.

According to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook update, Traquez Wells was taken into custody Monday, ending an extensive search that began after he failed to be located following the issuance of the warrants.

[ORIGINAL ARTICLE:] The Early County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Traquez Wells, who is currently wanted on two active warrants.

Deputies say Wells is wanted for Battery and Interference with a 911 Call. Authorities are urging anyone who may know his whereabouts to come forward.

If you have information that could help locate Wells, you are asked to contact the Early County Sheriff’s Office at 229-723-3577. All tips can be provided anonymously.
