ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A release from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) on Jan. 28 states that both Why Not Natural Pure Organic Moringa Green Superfood capsules and Live It Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder have been recalled.

According to the release, there is a total of 65 individuals across 28 states who were affected by this recall, and 14 of those 65 were hospitalized.

States with cases are as follows: AL, CA, CT, DE, IA, IL, KY, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI

What to know about Salmonella:

  • Symptoms usually occur within 12 to 72 hours of exposure
  • Symptoms usually last from four to seven days
    • Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps

It is important to note that children younger than five, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have severe infections.

The FDA advises that in order to prevent exposure, one should refrain from buying these products and if you have bought them, throw them away. The FDA also recommends that if you have used the product, you should sanitize any surfaces it may have touched.
