ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Albany Police Department (APD) released surveillance footage on Tuesday, Dec. 30 of an unknown suspect allegedly robbing the One Leaf convenience store in Albany on Sunday, Dec. 28 at about 9:50 p.m.
APD said the suspect was in possession of a firearm when they stole several alcoholic beverages.
The store’s owner reportedly tried to stop the suspect, but the owner was “struck in the head with an object, causing severe bleeding,” APD said.
Police said the suspect then fled on a bicycle.
It is unclear whether or not the store owner was hospitalized for injuries sustained in this incident.
One Leaf is located at 1628 Clark Avenue.
APD said that anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at 229-431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
