Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Southwest Georgia Regional Airport’s current Fixed-Based Operator (FBO) chose not to renew their contract, which ends April 30, 2025.

The Albany City Board of Commission decided today at a special meeting to move forward with negotiations with Valdosta Flying Service to replace Eagles of America as the airport’s FBO provider.

Eagles of America did not put in a proposal to renew their contract with the city of Albany.

Contract negotiations for a new FBO are now underway, and once they reach an agreement, they will submit it to the city for approval.

This change will not affect commercial flights, but it could affect pricing for people who store their personal planes at the airport.
