Description

SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - Areas across South Georgia are asking for donations as wildfires continue to burn through the region.

A burn ban is in effect across many parts of South Georgia.

Lowndes County

Protein bars, electrolyte drinks and powders are needed for volunteers and firefighters.

Items can be delivered directly to crews in the field or dropped off at Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For questions, call 229-244-2678.

Atkinson County

Bottled water, protein snacks, electrolyte drinks, socks, chap stick, and wipes are needed.

Donations can be dropped off at Atkinson County Emergency Operations Center, located at 33 Austin Avenue West in Pearson.
