CLINCH COUNTY, Ga. — The wildfires in South Georgia are continuing to grow, and the most recent estimate marks nearly 30,000 acres being burned, while containment remains at just 10 percent.
The Pineland Road Fire in Clinch County started just before 5 p.m. Saturday, April 18.
WALB began our coverage of the blaze when it was at 2,500 acres. The fire has since grown to 29,606 acres.
Anticipated containment is projected by May 31, officials said Wednesday, April 22.
