ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The city of Valdosta announced that South Fry Street will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 16.

South Fry Street will be from HWY 221 N to M.L.K Drive closed to replace a manhole, according to the city.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of South Fry Street will be closed to traffic. A detour will redirect vehicles down S Forrest Street, bringing traffic to M.L.K Drive.

“Please follow the traffic signage and directions. The City of Valdosta appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation as the Utilities Department works diligently to complete this necessary infrastructure improvement,” according to the release.
