ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A representative for reality TV celebrity Chase Chrisley said an incident at a Buckhead sports bar that ended with the star’s arrest has been “blown out of proportion.”

Chrisley, the son of Todd and Julie Chrisley from the USA Network show “Chrisley Knows Best,” was charged with simple battery and released from jail last Thursday after paying a $10,000 bond, Fulton County Jail records show. But Adam Ambrose claimed on Monday that the 28-year-old didn’t hurt anyone, according to a statement obtained by the Associated Press.

“Chase Chrisley had done the right thing that evening by calling a driver to take him home,” Ambrose said in a statement. “He did not assault anyone. Chase was trying to close out his tab and leave.”

On Jan. 6, an employee at Twin Peaks off Piedmont Road NE in Buckhead called police, saying that Chrisley slapped him twice. Chrisley was allegedly drunk and belligerent, lashing out when the employee asked him to leave.

Chrisley is best known for his connection to his Atlanta-based parents, who were convicted of federal charges related to bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022. He also starred in a show featuring him and his sister Savannah, “Growing Up Chrisley,” which aired from 2019 to 2022.
