ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Today features hot temperatures in the low to mid-90s, with a heat index reaching triple digits. Be sure to stay hydrated when outdoors for extended periods. There could be some relief from showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with a few storms containing lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall. A few spotty showers will remain possible overnight as lows dip into the mid-70s.

A typical summer pattern will continue into the rest of the week as showers and storms are back by Wednesday afternoon and evening. More rainfall will continue through the weekend. Highs will also be in the low to mid-90s.
