ENOLA, Pa. (WHP) — Seven puppies that were left on the stairs ofa police station in Pennsylvania were taken into the precinct once found by a departing officer leaving for the night.

The puppies, which were 10-12 days old, were dropped off in a milk crate overnight on Friday. The infant dogs were still dependent on their mother's milk and needed urgent support, police told WHP.

Now the East Pennsboro Township Police Department is looking into the man who left the puppies, who gave the name "Chris."

The "dependent age" of the puppies led police to get support from the Harrisburg Humane Society, which provided standard veterinary care to keep them in stable condition.

The organization then transferred the pups to Davis Dog Farm, a rescue in Grantsville.
