WHIGHAM, Ga. (WALB) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) announced a “serious vehicle accident” on Friday, March 14 in Whigham resulted in significant injuries to the driver.

The driver was airlifted to Tallahassee for immediate medical treatment after sustaining serious injuries in the accident, according to the announcement.

It is not yet known whether any other people were involved or injured in the crash.

Alcohol was not a contributing factor, according to the sheriff’s office, but this is still an ongoing investigation.

GCSO said their deputies, the Whigham Volunteer Fire Department, Grady Emergency Medical Services and Survival Flight responded to assist.
