ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A Dougherty County Superior Court judge is reportedly being impersonated by scammers who are demanding payment, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).
APD officers went to the courthouse at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 to inform Judge Victoria Johnson of this scam.
Police said that the scammers are calling people and telling them to report to Dollar General to pay a fine or risk being arrested.
Judge Johnson, who is currently residing over the Susan Embert murder trial, advised the public not to send any payment. She said she is not calling people.
