COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit has partnered with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) for a focused patrol operation in the Green Acres community.

The operation resulted in the arrest of eight individuals with a range of charges and outstanding warrants in the community.

The sheriff’s office says the enhanced patrol operations are part of a proactive strategy developed in response to resident concerns over criminal activity in the Green Acres community. Sheriff Fred Cole ensures that he and his department are dedicated to restoring peace and safety in the area.

“The citizens of the Green Acres community asked us to take great measures to reduce crime and unwanted activity in their neighborhood, and that’s what we have done and will continue to do,” said Sheriff Cole. “I am thankful for the man-hours put in by our Deputies, the CID and Drug Unit that execute the plan laid out for eradicating crime from this area.”

The seven of the eight were arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail. The arrests and charges include:

  • Luis Santos was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, originally stemming from a Driving Under the Influence offense.
  • Melissa Harper was arrested on contempt of court charges.
  • Christy Rollison was arrested on contempt of court charges.
  • Johnny Nelson was arrested for probation violation related to a previous conviction for possession of controlled substances.
  • Wendell Johnson was arrested and is facing multiple charges including burglary in the first degree and theft by taking following the theft and recovery of a stolen four-wheeler on May 28, 2025.
  • Bryan Lee Alexander was arrested for multiple traffic-related offenses, including driving with a suspended license, driving with suspended registration, and operating a vehicle without valid insurance.
  • Isaac Nunez Mejia was arrested and is facing charges for driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, and driving with no registration.

Seaborn Franklin Batten was arrested and transported to the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office due to active warrants in that jurisdiction related to financial crimes involving insufficient funds checks.
