GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Grady County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that Operation Southern Slow Down will start on Monday, July 14.
According to the sheriff’s office, the week-long campaign will cover Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
During the campaign, there will be an increased law enforcement presence on highways and major roadways throughout Georgia and neighboring states.
The sheriff’s office said the campaign targets speeding and aggressive driving to reduce crashes and save lives.
“Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits, drive responsibly, and prioritize safety — not just to avoid a ticket, but to protect themselves and others on the road," the sheriff’s office said.
