Description
TUESDAY PM: Heat indices by lunchtime are already exceeding the triple digit mark for many areas so far. Afternoon temperatures will continue to rise into the middle to upper 90s with heat indices reaching around 105° with some areas higher. A heat advisory is in effect for Decatur and Seminole Co. from 1pm-7pm today as they can see heat indices between 108°-110°. A stray shower/storm is possible, particularly in our northern communities but most of us will stay dry and lack any natural cooling throughout the afternoon/evening.
MID WEEK: Heat and humidity sticks around. It will continue to be hot with some afternoon showers and storms. Heat indices will reach 105°+. Heat advisories will gradually become more widespread as the week progresses.
FRIDAY: More heat and humidity with a widespread heat advisory expected. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the upper 90s. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms may try to cool some off.
WEEKEND: Some better rain chances keep the heat from turning extreme. Those afternoon thunderstorms also brings a marginal risk of flash flooding. Afternoon highs will still remain in the mid to upper 90s.
EARLY WEEK: The hottest weather of the year is expected. Highs will reach 100° and heat indices near 110° as we lose the rain chances. A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY is in effect for the Extreme Heat.
