ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA/Gray News) - Authorities found no signs of victims or of a shooter after clearing the building where an armed disturbance was reported near Naval Air Station Pensacola.

Earlier Thursday, law enforcement reported they were responding to a possible active shooter situation at Corry Station.

According to the Escambia Sheriff’s Office, officials have cleared a building at Corry Station where the disturbance was reported and found no victims or signs of a shooter.

The Corry Station gates and the main gate and west gate to Naval Air Station Pensacola were closed as police investigated the reported shooting, WJHG reported.

“Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners,” said Capt. Chandra Newman in a statement NAS Pensacola posted on Facebook. “Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families. Our security forces will continue to work with responding law enforcement to process the crime scene.”

According to the NAS Pensacola, Navy Security Forces as well as local law enforcement including the sheriff’s office and the Pensacola Police Department responded.

Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station is a sub-installation of NAS Pensacola that hosts several of the U.S. Navy’s Information Warfare Corps training commands.
