TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - City officials are asking the Tiftarea community to help spread the word about a Nighttime Warming Station opening early next week for residents in need as dangerously cold temperatures move into the region.
According to a post shared by the city on Facebook, the warming station will be open Monday and Tuesday nights, January 26 and 27, beginning at 6 p.m. each evening.
The warming station will be located at the First Baptist Church Gymnasium, at 404 Love Avenue in Tifton.
City officials encourage residents who know someone in need of a warm place to stay overnight to share this information. Additional announcements regarding warming stations for the remainder of next week are expected and will be posted on the city’s social media page.
Community members are encouraged to stay tuned for updates as cold weather conditions continue.
