Description
(Gray News) - Jasmine rice has been recalled because it might be contaminated with “foreign material,” according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall is for 2-pound bags of Lundberg Organic Jasmine White Rice manufactured by Lundberg Family Farms. It was originally recalled in April, but its classification was recently updated to Class II.

The jasmine rice is recalled because of “possible presence of foreign material,” but the FDA has not specified what the foreign material is.
The recall affects more than 27,000 packages of jasmine rice sold at Wegmans, Walmart, Target, Whole Foods and Giant stores in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
The Universal Product Code on the affected rice is 073416-040281. The affected lot codes are 260201 with a best-by date of Feb. 1, 2027, and 260202 with a best-by date of Feb. 2, 2027.
A Class II recall is one in which “use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to the FDA.
